Accounting 4 DC Helps Vegan Snack Bar Company Reach Kickstarter Goal
Posted by Stephanie Gibney on August 29, 2013
Accounting 4 DC’s owner, Stephanie Gibney, is a huge fan of Kate Bakes, a vegan and gluten-free baked snack bar company based in Washington, DC. So, when Stephanie learned that Kate Bakes was looking to expand locally, she jumped on the opportunity to back the baked goods company.
Since starting the online company, owner and vegan bar developer extraordinaire Katelyn Sornik has expanded her line from one flavor, Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal, to include Chocolate Coffee, Sunflower Butter Raisin and Cardamom Date. After achieving success with these flavors, Kate wanted to expand her product line to include new crunchy protein bars and granola, and dreamt of making her products more readily available in stores across the city. Kate turned to Kickstarter to raise funds to develop these new products and bring her healthy snack options more widely to fellow Washingtonians.
Accounting 4 DC made a pledge to help Kate reach her goal, which she hit on July 31, 2013. As part of the deal, one of the new bars will be named after Stephanie. Kate Bakes will also be featured in Accounting 4 DC’s blog, “A Day in the Life” this Fall.
